About Earth Day

For the past eight years, central Ohio’s citizens have embraced Earth Day by turning out in the thousands to care for the environment. In fact, over 69,000 hours have been donated planting trees, establishing gardens, cleaning river banks, popping honeysuckle, and more. But that was then…

Right now is the time to look ahead to the 45th anniversary of Earth Day when a record number of central Ohioans will take on hundreds of service projects and once again claim the title of the largest Earth Day volunteer event in the nation. Right Right Now Now!

Right Right Now Now will be the ninth Earth Day event organized by Green Columbus. Find out more about our organization by clicking the logo below.

Check out the fun had last year in the video above.

Take part in the nation's largest Earth Day volunteer effort, connect with like-minded folks and make your city a cleaner and green place to live, work and play.

Volunteering is fun and easy. There are spots for every skill set and age, and service sites are happening all across central Ohio, so you can select one close to home or close to your heart. To sweeten the deal, every volunteer will be rewarded with giveaways from local businesses, like Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream.

Groups are encouraged to participate, and the school (K-12), non-profit and employer that send out the most volunteers to Earth Day service sites will be recognized as Challenge Cup winners at a special ceremony at April 25th celebration at Columbus Commons.

Here's how:
  1. Register - it's quick and easy
  2. Browse and select a service site or sites – there are dozens to pick from
  3. Show-up to your project and help out
  4. Reap the rewards of volunteering – warm feeling of helping your community and some sweet gifts

Thank you
(in advance)!
